Robert Gray – Owner and Operator of Rob’s Reel Baits is a twenty year veteran of the United States Coast Guard who spent his free time catching bait for numerous bait and tackle stores until his retirement in 2003. Some of the stores asked him if he could build traps for them, then they asked for bait pens and what started off with just a few stores in the Key's has now transformed into a successful business covering most of Florida.

Things started to grow and in the spring of 2006 Rob's wife, Michelle, joined the team taking over the building of crab traps and handling the administration part of the business. Rob continues to build pinfish traps, chum baskets and specializes in custom built bait pens.

Each product is constructed of vinyl coated wire and fastened with stainless steel hog rings. No PVC pipes are used in our products. PVC tends to fill with water and collect barnacles. As for soft material they can get rolled up in a tidal current and crabs can break through the soft material. Our products are so tough that sharks, turtles, crabs and barracudas have not been able to penetrate them. Of course being a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard we only use American made products so you are not only getting USA quality you are getting durability.
